HHave finally got a slow cooker off mum add dad for xmas. How do i cook a sizeable common joint in it successfully? Its quite large so do i need to cut it into smaller pieces.to cook better or just go for it? It will be the first time i have used it, so want into be successful. Mtia x

SSpellcheck on my done is a bit annoying lol! No joints of that description here, unfortunately. Haven't been peeping.....my mum Came to mine yesterday and presented me with a slow cooker. She knew i wanted one and decided to forgo the wrapping! Thanks everyone.....Chris, your recipe looks lush!!!! X

Unfortunately the newest slow-cookers cook a lot hotter and a lot faster than the old classic electric stewpots. A recipe meant for one of the old ones may result in disaster if used with one of the new ones.
