Juggling A Full Time Job As Well As Chores Around House Etc

I am just wondering how other Abers juggle FuLL time work with grocery shopping, cooking meals, keeping the house tidy, dishes, gardening etc.

I do most of my chores/shopping on a weekend, and I am so tired at the moment.

I am always too tired to do anything once I finished work on an evening.

Does anyone have help from partners?

CoffeeLounge, I totally agree with you philosophy. My mum did everything when it came to housework, cooking etc. It hit me hard when I left home at 16. I thought it would be a piece of pee, but it wasn't - I juggled full time college with full time work, and housework didn't seem to happen for the first few years of living independently and my common sense was non-existent. I didn't know how to cook, save or budget. My mum had another child when I was 25. She asked me what should she do different? She was, and still is a great mother to me, but I told her straight that children need to be able to fend for themselves. I nearly killed myself on my first day of moving out, because I thought you could microwave frozen sausages. And I still haven't got the hang of the iron (friggin stupid invention)

I'm really not as bothered these days about the state of the house as I used to be.

Mazie. 4.30 am! I am impressed. I used to know a German lady who did all her housework every day and wouldnt go to bed until it was ALL done. She used to be still ironing at 2 am. I met one of her now grown up children the other day and said that was what I remembered about her mum and she said she is still the same.

I work full-time and do sometimes struggle to keep up with things especially when, on top of everything else, the car needs to go to the garage or something needs fixing.

But OH is really good and shares much of the burden. I cook, he washes up. I clean the bathroom while he hoovers. We shop together and always stop for a coffee or a stroll along the beach while we're out.

If you have a partner and he can't put the rubbish out or put his own clothes away or peel a few spuds, it might be time to teach him!
