Any cup that's put in the top right corner of my dishwasher always comes out with 'scum' on it, inside and out. Filters and arms are clean. Has anyone any idea why this happens - thank you.

Are you sure the arms are able to spin properly, and there isn't a lemon pip wedged in one of the holes?
Question Author
Nope! I checked them last week and all is clean and clear, arms spin free too .
Perhaps you need to teach your family to rinse the plates before putting them in. so there is less to create the scum.

Also do you use decent tablets, or cheap supermarket ones?

Check the rinse aid level too.
It happens to mine when it needs cleaning. Check your filter, put some salt in, and use rinse aid.
I would say make sure you have enough salt in it and rinse aid. It really makes a difference.

All of the above done and only ever use Finish tablets, as for others loading it... I wish!
Do you do a cleaning cycle every so often?

I stick one of those wee bottles of cleaning stuff you get in the supermarkets in once a month, seems to help.
You have two choices.

1. Don't put a cup in the top right hand corner.

2. Buy a new dishwasher.
Question Author
Strange how it doesn't happen anywhere else in the dishwasher which, by the way, is only 13 months old. Thanks for all your answers, no big deal I just wondered why it was happening.
That cup in the top right corner; leave it in the machine. That will ensure that you never have to take a "scummy" cup out again.
Perhaps adjust upwards the amounts of salt and rinse aid released.
