Hoover Nextra 7 Washing Machine

We have a hoover washing machine which we have had for about 6 years, it is a great machine but just this last few weeks the fabric softener won't go through, it takes in the powder but not the softener, we have washed out the trays but it still won't work. Has anyone a solution to this problem? Thanks.

It could be a blocked water pipe situated above the faric softener section on the tray.
