I have sold an item. And now had a message to say the person didnt like it and it didnt fit, so she wants a full refund.??? I have said no as it was described as it was and there is no fault on it. Now I am having a reply saying if I dont give a refund she will report it to ebay. as I didnt put no returns on it. If there had been a problem and it wasnt as listed or something I would have taken it back. But not because she simply doesnt like it.! Am I wrong do you think???

Not wrong, but as you didn't put No Returns Ebay may take her side.
No, you're correct. Not liking an item is not a reason for a refund. As long as your description was accurate they have no grounds for asking for a refund.
she may have already worn it for the event she needed it for by the time she gets to post it back, tell her to sell it on.
'Returns' are for faulty items, or if something does not match the description. Not because some daft cow simply didn't like it.
Tell her to sod off, and let her go ahead and open a case.

Or, you could let her return it, at her own cost, and resist it.
Up to you, but I wouldn't.
lol. I meant relist it. Stoopid predictive text.

LOL I did laugh at your reply madmen.! Thankyou all that replied. By the way we are only talking about £9.99.! I have told her to relist it, like I have had to do if something is not right for me. But she is being very insistent about it. x
lol :)
Buyers seem to think that because they're the only ones able to leave bad feedback, they can mess people around.
she can carry on being insistent but i think ebay would just tell you she has no grounds for opening a case. use that now well worn phrase 'my final decision on the matter' and see what she does next.

Good one DJ. x I did try and ask customer support on ebay??? what a waste of time that was. x
I'm pleased to see that I was wrong - sorry for misleading you, but all my sales on Ebay have been trouble-free.
Ebay seem to be a law unto themselves. If they decide black is white there's nothing you can do about it.

I speak from experience.
Always be explicit as you can, even down to seeming minutiae in providing your descriptions. Ebay takes that inot consideration heavily when responding to a complaint from a buyer. Having said that, the very few problems I've encountered indicated Ebay usually favors the buyer...

BTW... if someone leaves bad feedback, be sure to anwer it...
The point is though, if you are a seller and sell an item and it meets all the requirements and you have described it as accurately as possible. if the buyer actually does not like it and tries to 'threaten' to post bad feedback, ebay frown on that very heavily, it is in the rules i think that members cannot use the threat of leaving bad feedback to resolve an issue,
I'm with chrisgel on this. If you bought something in a shop, you wouldn't expect to have a God-given right to bring it back and get a refund, just because you changed your mind and didn't like it. M+S used to allow unfettered money back arrangements but had to tighten things up a bit.

But be aware of getting a bad name on ebay...it may affect any further sales that you plan to make.
If the person threatens to leave bad feedback you will have a record of that -so will ebay -they can access your messages and under certain circumstances (like a threat of a bad feedback) will delete the negative feedback. It has happened to me when a blouse lost a button in transit and the buyer (who was in Australia) would not accept a partial refund in good faith -she left an awful feedback but it was removed when ebay reveiwed her threats on the message system.

Thankyou to you all. That has made some interesting reading. She hasnt given up today I received a Refund request from Ebay she had put in to them. So I just again refused it and said the same as I had already told her, that I would not refund as it was as described as it was completely ok and not faulty. Now waiting for the next step. I have a feeling this will go on to the next stage. So watch for the next installment folks.! lol Brenda x
