Brace yourselves..

This morning after I had been to the loo earlier I noticed a red, very thin worm waving around in the bowl. It was about 10cm long.Since I am the only person who had used the loo, it has to be from me!

I went to the Docs and he gave me no explanation, just gave me a pill for thread worms, which it is not.

I am trying to think what it is and how I got it. One thing in particular I remember was an Indian takeaway, and the chicken was not cooked properly. It was hard to cut, and slightly watery inside.

Any thoughts??!!!

The treatment for  most worm infestations is pretty much the same , so you should be ok

If it makes you feel you better, my mate's brother, whilst travelling last year met a Dutch girl in a bar in Amsterdam, having like him recently returned from Cambodia. One thing led to another, and they ended up in his hotel room getting down to some drunken shagging. She was only too please to bend over the dressing table and allow him to have his wicked way with her...at which point a flukeworm popped its head out of her chocolate tea-towel holder, and had a cheeky look around.

friend of mine had one and was too embarrased to go to thr chemist to get Pripsen, so asked me. I went in and asked and said "It is not for me it is for her outside" LOL

Have you thought that this might not have come from you, but it might have been under the rim of the loo or hidden in the loo paper. The reason I say that is we've had loads of baby centipedes in our bathroom, they are tiny and look like worms when they're young. They can get into towels, flannels, onto soap, all over the place. If you're showering or using the loo you might be forgiven for thinking that the problem was with you. It might not be.

Scarlett, could it have been a  whipworm? It's common overseas but much rarer in Britain, although from what you say about your Indian takeaway it is quite possible, especially if it was prepared by someone from the sub-continent who might have been infected and more so if the food was undercooked. The pill your doctor gave you might have got rid of it but I believe treatment for whipworm usually takes 3 days. Check it out on Google; I'm sure there will be stacks of info on it.

garlic is good at treating worms and keeping them away, but you should see a DR about them

I think it's roundworm, judging by some of the revolting pics I have looked at, plus I have a horrible lung infection, which apparently is caused by it- worms living in the lungs. Now I am waiting for one to come out of my nose ... seriously.... Ooh I hate this.

That has actually got me slightly concerned, as I went to a pub yesterday and ordered a steak sandwich "rare", which came out "still quivering".
