My friend's Kindle has frozen (mine is OK, thank goodness!)
We've tried holding the button down for 20 seconds but no joy.Tried holding it for longer but still nothing.
Tried to charge it with a mains charger - orange charging light on for about 2 hours then goes off - still nothing.
Has anybody got any suggestions please?

Thanks for that link Mazie - it was quite helpful in that the problems those people were experiencing are similar to my friend's.
Looks like she'll have to contact Amazon to see if they can help.
Good luck with it buttons x

Just a quick update - she rang Amazon and they were really helpful. They tried to talk her through rebooting it but it still wouldn't start so they have offered her one of the new models at a 30% discount.
She's having a think about that as it's still a lot of money to replace an item that's only a couple of months out of warranty.
Thanks again Mazie.
Your friend may still be covered with a warranty by law, depending on the age and make of the kindle.

Ring or write to your nearest consumer advocate with the make and model and ask them how long is a reasonable time you could expect the unit to last trouble free.
