What order do you wear your wedding/engagement/eternity rings in?
I've just been reading the paper and noticed a lady had her engagement ring on first then her wedding ring, a perfectly logical arrangement in order of them being given to her.
I wear my eternity ring, wedding ring and then my engagement ring which is an illogical order but the usual convention amongst friends and family.
Which order do you wear yours in and is there a 'rule' as to the order or is it just a matter of choice?
To my shame I lost my wedding ring ages ago and I don't want a replacement as it wouldn't be the same.
I wear my eternity ring and then my engagement ring on top of it
Mrs O, my wedding ring isn't a plain band it is cut and has engraving on it. I took it to be resized and the jeweller asked if I wanted the worn away engraving redone. I had to tell him that re-engraving my wedding ring would be like erasing my umpteen years of marriage, so I quite understand your point about not replacing your wedding ring.
I don't have any now but when I did it was wedding ring first as I had never taken that off until I made him take it off before he moved in with someone else LOL
I only have a wedding ring, but I've understood it to be wedding, engagement, eternity. You take your engagament ring off for the wedding ceremony and put in back on after you have a wedding ring. You can then add eternity some time later but at no time do you need to remove your wedding ring to do so.
lol mrs overkill, the daughter has the first set (engagement, eternity and wedding), the second engagement one got sold, and the third, which I still have, wasn't a usual wedding ring..................
I don't always wear my stoned rings but always wear me wedding ring.
I was having a lot of work done on my rings, rebuilding and resizing and all was done simultaneously. Consequently for a while I wearing no marital jewellery, gossip was rife in the office as it coincided with my husband disappearing for 12 months!
