Mobile Data On Phone Startup

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 on the EE network and I keep Mobile Data switched on at all times, with Wifi off. In addition, I turn the phone off at night but once it is switched back on in the morning everything is working as I want it. Or that is how it used to be...

Recently I find that Mobile Data is switched off whenever the phone starts up, including after a manual restart. I haven't changed any settings so has this change of behaviour resulted from a Jellybean update? Does anyone know where there is a phone setting to ensure that Mobile Data is turned on at startup? I can't find one, and it is mildly irritating every time when I realise that my calendar hasn't been updated automatically.

Can't actually help, but wonder if it has developed a fault. Surely settings should stay as you last set them unless you request a reset to factory settings ?

Everything else seems to work in the same way, I'll just have to get into the habit of turning it on as my first action or start leaving the phone on overnight.
Where abouts are you turning the mobile data back on ??
I've got a Sony Xperia, which is an Android phone, so I'm assuming it'll be similar ??
Try going into "settings" and then "data usage". You can turn "mobile data" on and off in there - I don't know if this will help you or not ??

I can turn data on without a problem but it used to remember the state from when the phone was turned off so that if data was on at that time then it would be active when the phone is switched back on. Now data is always off when the phone restarts, necessitating going into the settings to turn it back on manually, and so, for example, the calendar doesn't automatically synchronise when it starts because there is no internet connection.
