Central Vacuum Cleaning System

Anyone got one? I'm thinking of installing one in my house and would appreciate opinions.

From friends and family who have gone down this route the overwhelming view is that they regret not buying a Miele for each floor.

Is it quiet, baldric? Good suction? Is the very long hose awkward?

I have used one in apartments abroad - very efficient and quiet, but I would have thought that retro-fitting one into an existing house might be quite a disruptive procedure?

The only snag I came across was that you are working with long lengths of hose all the time, which can get snarled up in furniture etc. But the suction is tremendous :+)

I've got a Dyson on each floor (both uprights - better for getting dog hair off the carpets) and a Henry for the kitchen and stairs ...

Hopkirk, not every one is able to carry things upstairs. My old mum is very independent but needs two hands to climb the stairs. She has a vac on each floor and I do the stairs for her.

I keep Dyson upstairs...have Henry for stairs and an old upright Hoover just for large rug in lounge downstairs..

MOH, who's a vacuum freak, has three downstairs and another upstairs. One or the other seems to be on all day. They're not of course but still drive me crazy.

I keep a Dyson downstairs and an old cylinder upstairs which no-one asked me for when I got a "trade-in" deal from Dyson!
