Norton 360 Gold Product Key Issues

Hi everyone,

A very bizarre situation has occurred, I recently brought the Norton Gold edition 360 internet security software, I was very happy because it included 500gb cloud storage free for one year, I got this for £29.99 normally it would have cost me £80. I rang up Norton techs to help me install it on my laptop, however, the Norton tech guy informed me that the product key that I have was already being used by some one else, this person had been using it since August of this year, I brought it in September through PC world over the phone, after a lot of hassle Pc World agreed to replace it. I receive the replacement Norton 360 Gold edition, once again when I tried to install it on to my laptop I was informed that the product Key was already being used by some else from May of this year, I received the replacement this month, ie October of this year. Does any one knows what is going on with these product keys, why am I being sold product keys that are already in use. I would really be grateful for some answers.

Sounds like either the product keys have been cloned or perhaps its bundled software that you've been sold which have somehow got separated from their computer!

You don't say why the cost was so low.....

I would get advice from Trading Standards and let them deal wiht PC World on your behalf.

There was a segment on software fraud on Fake Britain this week - not sure what day it was, but it would orobably be on the BBC iPlayer.

I still say go to Trading Standards especially since you got 2 dodgy ones - was it the same branch of PC World?
