My daughter is trying to pay for a phone but ebay won't let her add her bank card because it's Australian. Does anyone know how she can get around this? If not how does she contact the seller to try and arrange other payment methods?

I don't use ebay...

is she trying to add the card to Paypal Ummmm?
if that isn't working, you can deposit funds into your paypal account and then pay rather than paypal charging the card as you pay .......if that makes sense.

I think so but I think paypal are only giving options of Visa UK or Visa USA.
just away to go and have a look :)

Aww thanks.
it says you can link a bank account to it, or does it need to be credit card - i.e. does she not have the cash at the moment?
at the bottom of the ad there should be the option of ask seller a question you could contact them by asking a question regarding the payment

when you pay by paypal the seller is only supposed to send the item to the address registered at paypal

I think she's using a debit card but from an Oz bank.

(goodness knows why she didn't open a bank account as soon as she landed in the UK)
if I try and add a Visa card, it just asks for the card number - doesn't seem to have a country specified - I can't try it as I don't have a visa card to add.

I think she's changed address with ebay.
Hmmm- sounds a bit complex Ummmm, can you pay and get the cash from her?
Question Author
I think I'll get her to contact the seller and explain. Then she can transfer the money to me and I can pay? Can I do that?
Question Author
Yes Annie...that might be the best thing to do.

Thanks for your help.
I think they should only send the Paypal billing address which will be where her card is registered, having said that, a seller did happily agree to send a chair to my Mums address rather than mine - I do have a long history on ebay though and perfect feedback and it wasn't an item that a fraudster would really be interested in (a hospital type chair)
you can still pay via paypal using the sellers email address and your own paypal account if you have one. just let the seller know what you are doing.
just log into paypal and click on "send money" you need the sellers email or mobile number.
