Forgotten Vista Password

Thanks to advice on Answerbank I have managed to fix my partners old Toshiba laptop that runs Vista. The problem she now cannot remember her password and did not create password reset disk. The password hint has not helped either. Is there any software that is recommended that can recover or reset the password? Am tempted to just buy a new laptop but she likes this one and I am enjoying the challenge of sorting it. Thanks for any help.

Download and burn to disc OPHCrack which will find your password for you when you run the program. To use the program you must boot the computer into the BIOS and change the boot order to boot from the dvd drive. Once you have done this put the disc into the drive and reboot the computer which will then commence the search for the password. Once it finds it write it down and then shut down the computer and remove the disc. Reboot the computer and enter the password and the computer should boot as normal. Don't forget to reboot into the BIOS and reset the boot order back to boot from the Hard Disc.
