I have finally been offered the chance to have a smart meter installed and was wondering if any one had an opinion on them?

The main reason I wanted one was down to this article [or one very like it] as when this initiative was announced and I looked in to it I found out it would only be available to homes with a Smart meter :0/

Did laugh at the comments about 'Plod being able to monitor your usage' but seeing as I don't have a cannabis farm in the shed I should be ok!

Smart meters allow control by the supply company of your supply from their office, with no necessity to get a right to enter your home and make changes. Plus, of course, control by anyone who manages to crack whatever is needed to send commands. Install at your own risk. It would put me off buying your property in the future.
