Rumbling Tummy Noises

My husband's stomach has started making really loud rumbling noises (you can hear it across the room) about 5 - 10 minutes after he starts eating and it goes on for quite a while. Any ideas what this can be. He says there is no pain but he can feel a bubbling sensation when it makes the rumble. Thanks for any suggestions.
