For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.did you lose a bag with all your details in home address and such, as that would be a reason to change all the locks.? if not and you just lost the keys, have a house and car key as spare somewhere on your person. i do and has saved me from enormous hassle, and cash outlays to get the locks changed.

mine was a very expensive one, 225 quote from the council to change the locks, paid upfront as well, not sure how they thought i had that sort of money on me, seeing as i was locked out of the house, half a day and much hassle to sort out, 175 quid as well from a private locksmith, though i was able to claim on the insurance...
I once lost my house keys and car keys whilst visiting a relative in hospital, they also contained a protected key fob, luckily we had spare set as the car keys would be £90+ to replace, one month later I had a call from the company to say a woman had found the keys in her husband's brief case I went to the house and collected them apparently her husband had found them in the hospital instead of handing them in had put them in his briefcase then forgot, what a stupid man.
