I sat down in front of the computer with a bowl of yoghurt.

Up comes an add for yoghurt. Not just any yoghurt but the brand I was eating.

Hmm. Do you have a webcam?
I'd say coincidence, but.......

If your yoghurt was in a bowl rather than the original pot, Google's guessing - unless they are linked to the supermarket where you do your shopping :-(

Did you spill some on the keyboard?

We do have a "FlyBuys" card that earns points when we shop.

Bit of a worry if they can link with that information.

But having just bought a fridge full of yoghurt because it was on special they were probably not sensible to target me for that product.
That's a bit like eBay Recommendations, beso - they email me to say "these things are like what you've already bought" - derr, I just bought one....

Apparently Google is pretty good as guessing who you are though without explicitly knowing.

Sometimes I click the eBay adds for things I don't want just to throw them off.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you :)

Here is one just I clicked for fun. I have three barbecues and this one is about 1500 km away. Worth the read. It is pretty funny though I suspect they could be done for misrepresentation.
