Has Anyone Else Noticed

I have mentioned before how Cor. St. and E. End. seem to copy each others story lines. Now, after Haley's cancer and death in C. we are having to go through it again in E.E. The latter is so depressing I'm on the verge of not watching it anymore. It is interesting though to see how they are preparing the 'decks' for the new set, re. closing the market for a start. I suppose we can look forward to more fires and catastrophes. blah blah

Pat Butcher died of cancer. Tanya had cancer....

Cancer, death, divorce, births, weddings, unemployment etc is all around us all the time. Soaps are supposed to show a magnified version of real life, so I suppose it's only to be expected that some storylines will overlap or run close together.

Nobody would watch a soap that was full of happy people living idyllic lives.

i stopped watching EE years ago too depressing but emmerdale and corrie are going the same way and i dont watch either of them as much as i used to
