Facebook Friends Requests

Is there anyway to stop FB sending random friends requests? Just had a notification saying that someone has accepted a request that I didn't send, good job I know her and I dread to think how many more may have been sent, people will think I'm a nut.

I don't know what's happening but I do know I never sent a request to her, very strange. A couple of weeks ago I got a request from someone I knew years ago, not friends but I know a lot of people she knows, I suspect that may have been a fake request now. I also got a request from someone in my cousin's wife's family who I don't know from Adam.

I get pictures and names of people I "might" know through other friends and I can look through them.
The opportunity to ask them to be a friend is there, so maybe you have tapped or clicked on a name by accident.

FB are feckers for doing this, I wonder if there's a way of seeing who you requested.

Nope Chrissa, I haven't been near suggested friends or her profile and I stay clear of request buttons.

Rocky, if you click on the friends icon at the top right (where you get your notifications), scroll to the bottom and click View All.

At the top left, it should say View Sent Requests in blue. Click there to see if any requests have come from your account. You can cancel any requests if you need to.

Thanks sp just found that and there were two requests to strangers, one of them had a profile in Russian! Thankfully I could delete them, but I will check that frequently now.

I've requested friends by accident. I was wondering if it would be rude to send them messages saying I didn't mean to add you :-)

I might have thought that but I deliberately haven't sent a request to the woman that recently accepted, plus the Russian with no friends in common, just seems rather odd.

Well that is very odd indeed - I've just checked and I seem to have sent a Friend Request to Jeremy Clarkson ...

... now I know I do odd things after a magnum of Chateau Thames Embankment - but even in my cups I don't think I'd have attempted to befriend JC.
