Linux Operating System
Microsoft say they are ending support for Windows in April. Is there any reason why Windows could not be be replaced by Linux Operating System. Can this Linux system be installed in every desktop? Also, any advice on the quality of Linux would be welcome.

Linux can be installed on any machine that will run any modern version of Windows. It's free.
HOWEVER, it will not run Windows programmes natively, so no Word or Excel etc. Luckily there are free alternatives for virtually everything you could ever want.
My advice would be to try it. If you don't like it, you can wipe the hard drive and put Windows back.

As has been said by jeffa....//Microsoft ARE NOT ending support for Windows - they are ending support for Windows XP//
XP will still continue to function in Computers and, providing it is being used in conjunction with a good Anti Virus programme, it will operate quite satisfactorilly and could well outlast the machine on which it is being used.
Hans.
