Had my car repaired and MOTd by same garage. Yesterday the cooling fan was constantly running on a trip to the shops. So I checked the cooling water level in the expansion tank and it was empty. As I was away from home I bought a pack of mineral water to top up.
I noticed a small drip dropping onto the road.Will investigate today.
Does it make you think why other problems arise after visits to garages?

That really depends on the garage, I really dont think any reputable garage would deliberately interfere with your car. Most garages are too busy to need to create problems but accidents can happen.

If the repairs necessitated attention to the cooling system or required draining down, it's possible something wasn't tightened up properly.

No, we use a garage we trust and have no reason not to. Since we moved house 14 months ago it is now a 35 mile round-trip, so if there's a service due, we drop the car off, have a walk by the River, lunch in a local pub (no, we don't drink and drive) pick the car up, and we've had a good day out as well! Never had a reason to complain.

not saying it is in this case but it is a standing joke in the motor trade that if anything goes wrong with a vehicle , even if its totaly unrelated ,after being in for repair its always the repairers/garages fault.
Over the years we have been accused of all sorts of c**p, stealing fuel(even though its virtually imposible with modern cars),swapping wheels/tyres , body damage, using the car and putting miles on it !! the list goes on..

what sort of repair was it in for ? if it was in for say new pads etc. they would have no reason to check the water, although many garages carry out what they call health checks which would cover things like water/fluid levels.

Oh yes, car returned from a full service, no oil in it. Later, after a full service found it was running rough, pulled the spark plugs and found them caked with carbon and and one had lost it's center pin ceramic insulator. 1st garage said something wrong with the engine, they did fill it, must need an overhaul, 2nd garage, I'm stirring things up, they changed the plugs, I'm a crook. Now I do my own servicing.
