Microsoft Called Me...
13 Answers
Don't quite know where to put this one... Number rang OH's mobile and asked for me! Anyway, foreign accent and it was someone from Microsoft about my computer! Ooooh noooo.... About security on a download or something omg!! They said they would sort it for me, I said what country are you calling from, he said London!! Oh dear thought I, a very likely story, so all of a sudden my OH was having a heart attack, or choking on a crisp, or drinking too much... So I said get off the phone I need to call the emergency services! The caller said, I don't understand, can I talk to your OH please, I said no clear the line I need to dial 999 but still the caller didn't understand so I clicked the phone off! Good job my OH played along, I just love scamming the scammers...well trying to at least. Yeh I know it's a scam but it was good whilst it lasted. Has anyone else had a call from +11234567890, I've tried to find a name for these people but nothing so far...would be interested to know? thanks

2. They believe you'll respond more favourably to an English name.
3. Tell them the next time that you don't have a Computer and that will put them off.
4. Register with the Telephone Preference Service

And this should help cut down on nuisance calls. If they are based in the UK (Once you've been with the TPS for a few weeks), mention the TPS and that they're breaking OFCOM rules. That'll give them something to think about.

last time these 'people' phoned me I told them that i would put the phone down and then ring the police and so began a rant from them saying that I was various swear words which i will not be allowed to type on here and that if i did indeed phone the police they would set the FBI onto me............strange really, cos the FBI is an internal organisation in USA and 'John' assured me at the start of the call that he was calling from the UK!!

in my experience, no it doesn't. I've had several calls telling me you have to reconfirm your membership every year, but for a "small fee" they can register me for a more effective screening service.....

The most recent few of these calls have asked me to switch on my computer.......and tell them what I see on my computer screen.
I play along a while before slowing "reading" the letters Efff Uuuu Ceeee koffff by which time I have been told I am very rude.....before cutting them off.
I don't use that word, but spelling it out slowing gives me a satisfied feeling. Idiots.
