The ring pull has pulled off before opening can, one can opener doesn't have the depth of cut to open the tin and my other one which cuts horizontally has given up the ghost.

Any suggestions for how I can hack my tin of tuna open?

I use tins so rarely that I just forget I need a new tin opener, must try harder to remember:-(

I've turned the tin every which way and the openers just won't work.

Perhaps I'll skip the protein in my salad tonight :-(

I had this problem once and in utter frustration I lobbed the tin outside onto the path (at the back of the house) and the impact opened the tin enough for me to get the contents out. Worth a try?
Now if it was a can of worms........!
Grind it on a rock.

Roy beat me to it with that idea, I saw it a couple of weeks ago but haven't tried it as yet.
Wedge a screwdriver in the side anywhere near the seal and just prise it off.
Or place it on its side and give it a small whack with a hammer. Surely then it'll just pop up?
wire snips??
i'd go at it with a screwdriver...

and probably end up in A& E

Hmmm, I'm not inclined to expend more energy than the tin contains resolving this situation and would rather not have to pick bits of metal out my poor mans tuna nicoise so bashing the side with a hammer seems a good idea :-)
Have you tried turning the can upside down?
All joking aside ring-pull cans are very easy to open with a knife.
Place it inside a plastic bag first, you don't want brine/sunflower oil/springwater flying about all over the shop! LOL
Or even a spoon. Just tried it with a can of tuna...A short sharp tap downwards and it was open.
I really wish I had placed it inside a plastic bag first.

lol

did you want tuna?
No
But I was curious.
