Do I Need An Aerial
8 Answers
I currently subscribe to sky and watch all my programmes through the dish (don't have an aerial) but as sky are yet again putting up their prices I am thinking of switching to bt/infinity as they seem a lot cheaper, I will obviously have to look into what programmes I will get to see if its as good value but would like to know would i have to get an aerial installed or would I be able to watch the channels through the dish as I already do

I have no aerial either and last time I checked, the answer is yes and no. The freeview bit of BT's deal needs an aerial but some of it comes as data down the phoneline. It sounded a bit complex to me so I have stuck with sky for my TV
If you keep your old Sky box but get rid of the subscription you'll still be able to receive all of these free channels using it as now:
http:// en.wiki pedia.o rg/wiki /List_o f_free- to-air_ channel s_at_28 %C2%B0E
That list is sufficient for many people but it doesn't, for example, include the free channels from UKTV (such as Dave, Yesterday and Drama). If you want those channels (without paying a subscription) you'll need an aerial to get them via Freeview. (That applies irrespective of whether you've got BT Infinity or not).
