This will be a first for me. I want to send a parcel back to EBay. It hasn't suited me.

I will put a note in it but what do you say. Also do you give bank details for the money to be put back etc.

How did you pay for it? does the seller accept returns?
If you go to ebay and click on your purchase history, against the item in the drop downs, there will be one called "more actions" choose the one that says return this item and it will walk you through the process.

Thanks Woof - paid for it via Ebay as a guest. Have looked at the returns policy and I can send it back within 14 days. I just wondered do they have my banking details.
did you pay through paypal or a credit card? you will get the money put back the way you paid it. You have t do more than check the returns policy, you have to do it the ebay way, you may need to contact the seller first.
Hi Jenny. You need to contact the seller in the first instance to see if they will accept a return and give the reason you want to return it. If you can send it back and you used Paypal, then you don't need to give the seller your bank details. Only the email address you use for Ebay is needed.

Thanks for that info. Yes, don't think I need to contact seller - it seems to be an automatic that they accept returns.

I will just provide them with email address - because I did use Debit card via Paypal as a guest. It doesn't say anywhere - but would I need to give an explanation as to why I am sending it back.

The seller is a company.
I agree with marje. Don't just send things back hoping for the result you want. If it hasn't suited you then they have fulfilled their part of the bargain and have no compulsion to return your money simply because you changed your mind on getting it.

Go talk to the seller's customer services / sales dept. See what they are prepared to do, if anything, and they will tell you how to proceed if they are willing to have it returned. Note that at best you will still be paying the postage/packaging for two directions.

As I said before - there is a returns policy if goods are returned within 14 days.
You need to read the return policy closely… although it gives you 14 days to return it, and then even if the item wasn't as advertised or described or didn't fit in the case of clothing. Additionally, don't be surprised if you have to pay for return shipping.

As marje said, re-read Ebay's policy and follow the directions, especially as regards contact with the seller. Ebay usually leans towards protecting the buyer, but only within the established policies and procedures...

Distance selling regulations apply to ebay sales so goods bought from a company via eBay can be returned for any reason.
The seller will get the original postage back but unless the listing specifies otherwise may have to pay for return postage.

Just put a note in with your name, address and email address, date purchased and date received. If you want you can add a personal message and please leave good feedback if appropriate.
