Annoying Phone Calls

I am usually plagued by these up to twenty times a day. I never answer them if it's a strange number. But I have realised I've not had any in three days. I remember last week there was an announcement things were going to get tougher regarding cold calling but didn't expect this result. Anyone else noticed a reduction in calls?

They aren't taking heed in my area, unfortunately. The answering machine is still on - permanently.

I was getting up to five a day, i am with talk talk they have a free call barring service, it is more like one a week now.

methyl - the strange numbers usually begin with 001 or 002 (where a number is given). The recorded messages concerning windows/kitchens/boilers/solar panels etc. will leave the spiel on the answering machine.

I keep hoping that, when there is no reply, they'll give up !!

I got one yesterday from an 0161 number. I checked it online and it was a "Help with your claim" type company. I never answer any calls. I leave the answering machine on at all times and screen ALL calls.

I am now starting to get cold callers on my mobile - anything that comes up 'private number' gets rejected

My elderly neighbour was plagued with calls even though he is registered with the TPS. The majority of these were from a company promoting solar panels, new boiler etc. All calls were diverting to his voice mail because he is bed/chair bound and doesn't answer the phone. I managed to find the telephone number of the caller and reported them to the Information Commissioners Office and for the last month he has not received any calls. If they are on my mobile I ignore them as only familY and friends have my number, but on the landline We have a answerphone but still get Caught out if awaiting a call,
I swore once as I put the phone down , I was so angry, and the caller rang me back and Asked what I'd just said!
