Posting Franked Mail

I went to the post office today and posted franked mail however i was told the last collection had past, however they were still happy to accept it they just said it will be sent tomorrow. I thought franked mail could only be accepted before the last collection. Im confused!

well, it's before tomorrow's last collection!
The official requirement is simply to post 'on the date franked':

However I've worked for firms that have franked mailshots every day from Monday to Friday and then taken the whole lot to a sorting office on Friday. Nobody ever objected!
