A bidder won my auction on Sunday for some garden chair cushions. She was bidding against another bidder. She put a final bid in at the last minute and won.

No payment has been received, despite me sending her two invoices. Emailed her this morning saying, why did she bother to bid if she had no intention of completing purchase.

Just received an answer from her saying, she never bid on this item, it must have been her son or daughter messing about.

Do you think she is telling porky pies. ?

Yes

Sounds like she got bidding fever and regrets it.
I am not sure there's anything you can do though.

That's what I thought Talbot.

Fiction-factory, I have cancelled the order and hopefully get my final value fee back.
Even if her kids did bid, her account, her responsibility. you can mark her as a non payer, I had a couple who bid on stuff and won, then asked could they pay on payday, two or three weeks hence. I said no and marked them as non payers.

I don't normally ever leave bad feedback but on this occasion I will. Just waiting for her to confirm the cancelled order.
''I don't normally ever leave bad feedback but on this occasion I will''

You can't leave negative feedback as a seller.

Oops you are right Snags but I can leave a scathing positive lol lol
Fusion5 go immediately to the Resolution centre and report as non payment. If you do not do this the 'buyer' who has not paid can leave negative feedback . Also it goes against you as a buyer if you cancel an order, you may get a 'defect' on your account. One an unpaid item case is started the buyer has 4 days to pay (which she won't of course' then you can apply for final value fees return and she will get a non payer defect against her name which she deserves.
"goes against you as a SELLER"

Retro, I have done the 'buyer wants to cancel order' status. They are waiting for her response so I can get my Final Value Fee back. I have just gone to Feedback and clicked the 'Report' button and left my comments on there.

I don't think she will take any notice if the 'cancel' request from EBay though.
you can't open a non payment claim with eBay until 5 working days from the sale.As you sold this Sunday you have to wait until next Monday 20th to start a claim through ebay. Thisis only the second working day.
eddie its actually 48 hours after the sale you can open a non payment case -I've just done one.
Fusion that's an alternative option as long as you are doing it through the Resolution centre you will get your fees back. I hate the fact you can't leave neg. feedback for buyers -I get some horrible ones but if you leave a false positive they can report you.

Eddie that has all changed now. I sold the item on Sunday around 3.15 and could open the non payment case this afternoon at 3.15. It used to be 5 days but that appears to have changed.
Question Author
I know Retro, I think other potential sellers should be made aware of a bad buyer.
When you set an auction up in the future just add ... " Payment is expected within 48 hours, otherwise a case will be opened automatically for non payment"
Retrochic is right ... you can start the case after 48 hours from the auction end.

eBay have cancelled the order.

The silly tart has emailed me saying she doesn't go on EBay much. What a liar, she has some items for sale on there now.
Question Author
Alava, I have that already on my listings, but there is no EBay policy to enforce this.
Fusion - Ebay can't enforce anyone to pay but you can tweak your settings so that if payment is not made within 48 hours an automatic non payment case is opened by Ebay and they do all the work for you. Also in your settings tick the box that blocks bidders with more than 2 non payment defects within 12 months. I have an eBay shop and normally sell stuff as 'buy it now' but stuff that is in the auction is a nightmare for getting paid and I always send a reminder after 24 hours stating that a case will be opened by Ebay automatically if they have not paid within 48 hours -this usually works but there are people who just bid with no intentions of paying, or who bid on two similar things at the same time and only buy the one they got for the cheapest amount.
