Samsung Tablet Cables

I have a Samsung Tablet and I want to be able to read a USB memory stick, at the same time as charging the tablet. I have this lead, which lets me read the memory stick :::

But I need one that I can charge the tablet at the same time. I saw one on ebay weeks ago but now I can't find it again. Can anybody help ? Please note that I do not use Amazon.

Sorry no real info on tablets, Samsung or otherwise. Was surprised to read they had no USB port.

Thanks OG....I think some of these tablets now come with a USB socket, but my 3 year old Samsung Galaxy tab 7 inch doesn't. Its seems strange because the new micro USB is very small and could easily be fitted with one. Its the main aspect that annoys me about tablets in general...lack of interconnectability. I couldn't imagine using a tablet as my only computer !

I want to use the tablet as a photo frame, so it needs to be on charge all the time. I am still looking on ebay as I type, but there are pages and pages of ruddy different leads and cables and I can't see the wood for the trees !

i trust folk here may be able to help, but I suspect you'd get good advice visiting a Samsumg shop in your nearest town: especially if they have tech support, and asking the tech guys there.

Probably true OG, but my experience from going into Apple shops is that they will sell me anything I need but at 2-3 times the price available on ebay!

Why don't you just buy an elctronic photo frame? Seems bizarre to use a tablet for that.

I have one and it's briliant, comes on and off when i want, easy to store 100s of pics...

It seems that this cable isn't very available, unless its from LAVA in Canada and it costs £85 !

Seems a very simple request to make...to ensure that the Tablet can use a USB Memory stick, and charge at the same time. I don't know of any other kind of computer that can't chew gum and walk at the same time !

Samsung could have preempted this by making my Tablet available with a micro USB socket on it in the first place. I have said before......this is where tablets show their innate weakness...lack of full or even partial connectivity.

Thanks hc....I am still unsure if this will work, as the product description still says::::: OTG ports and OTG cable can NOT be used to charge devices.

But I shall contact the manufacturer and see what they have to say.

hc....I am coming to the conclusion that this cable is not very available, because the power requirements to charge and power the Memory stick at the same time is just too great.

If I ever replace my Samsung, I shall look for one with a micro USB port built in.

You could send your photos to the 'cloud' which stops them filling up your tablet but can be shown anywhere you are connected to wifi. I find it very quick to access files in the cloud
