Pvc Ceiling?

Would like some opinions on PVC ceilings in a bathroom,please.

If it's what you think would look good in your bathroom, then why not go for it?

However, for best effect, you'll need to rewire the lighting. A single light might look out of place; something like this would be better:

One problem could be mildew if you have a steamy bathroom. On usual surfaces you can wash it off then redecorate. On PVC you may have a problem painting it.

There are loads of uPVC panels and cladding on the market. I can't see there would be any technical problems.

Any condensation problem would be obviated by good extraction.

Thank you very much. I had heard of problems with condensation but I will be having a better extractor fan fitted.I'll also need different lighting or so I was told so I'll just have to think what sort of revamp I want.

Fix battens to the ceiling first (25 x 50mm treated timber.) Fix the cladding to the battens.

Apart from being a better job, it would allow you to run lighting cable through the void (space between the ceiling and the uPVC.) This way you can have as many lights as you like without having to get access above the ceiling.

My daughter agrees with you,-Talbot-.Decisions,decisions.I'll probably just keep the ceiling-it's easy to clean and I didn't want to change my lighting.
