the last thing the eussr wants is to lose nations...theyll take it to the wire and "do a deal"...and from that moment on theyve got Greece under the thumb..literally...total control as a reward for "helping save Greece"
if the Greeks had any sense theyd get out now, suffer some pain and gradually get their country back under their control not the empire builders of the eussr
Bazwillrun The Bubbles (Greeks) have some great quotes: Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish. Euripides (c. 480-406 BC, tragedian of classical Athens) maybe you should take heed
I think they're resigned to going anyway. This a last-ditch thing. I also get the feeling that Germany is fed-up with the whole scene and may just shrug and say, OK - so what!
This is, of course, just a nebulous feeling. I'm sure calm, economy-aware brains are busy all the time with calculations. We shall see - but I think they'll go. Don't mind being wrong :)
Greece has been sponging off EU money for years. They need the EU more than the EU needs it.
If they were to leave the EU they'd go down the pan and they know it. The problem is that Syriza will also lose credibility with the voters
But this scenario was inevitable when they came to power
Can Merkel afford, politically, to keep baling them out.
I'd imagine a lot of hard working German taxpayers look down on the non-taxpaying, early retiring Greeks with disdain. (not my views)
Something we can agree on there Svejk :-)
I've seen some interviews with Greeks recently tho and it interesting that many are now questioning themselves and the way they have 'managed' their economy for so long
It's notable that the only people on AnswerBank who feel the need to use derogatory names for peoples/nations seem to be right-wingers. It appears that they can't refer to Americans (Yanks) in any way other than as 'septics', on the basis of 'septic tanks', or to Scots (Jocks) without calling them 'sweaties' on the basis of 'sweaty socks'. The same 'rule' applies to 'bubbles', of course. It's just slack thinking on their part, I suppose.
"It's notable that the only people on AnswerBank who feel the need to use derogatory names for peoples/nations "
oh do me a favour...you really need to get a life..derogatory...
I can feel the self righteous indignation from here...
and for those that didnt know that bubbles was greeks... never mind...try getting out a tad more eh !
"Any chance that you could post again in some intellible"
sorry old boy I would answer but intellible doesnt mean anything to me, and not in my dictionary, so not really sure what youre getting at....
always the same old leftie dullards moaning and complaining and making sure to be offended by anything and everything at all possible times...luv it !
