Honda Crz Lockout
9 Answers
Long shot question as this is quite a rare car, but I’m hoping other Hondas have a similar feature so someone might know the answer. The car has a push-button ignition (activated after you turn the key).
After a meal last night I returned to the car to see the front/rear lights flashing rapidly, but not brightly. When I pressed the unlock on my fob there was no response apart from a faint click and the lights turning off – the door didn’t unlock. I used the key to get in but, turning the ignition, only a couple of dash lights came on and the push-button didn’t respond. No lights had been left on.
I called the RAC, which took about 10 minutes. By the time I got back to the car there were no flashing lights, my fob worked as normal and the car fired up. And I’ve just been out in it a few minutes ago – all normal.
Someone suggested it may have been caused by someone tampering with the car in an attempt to get in, but there are no signs of that and the pub was so remote it just seems very unlikely.
I’m hoping the CRV/CRX and other models (mine is 2010) have a similar feature so that someone might be able to explain what the car was doing?

Worked ok for me and I use Firefox. Any chance one of the doors wasn't 100% shut I've seen that before

I have an old Honda and the alarm won't set if the doors are not closed 100%. Having said that there are times when I think it is set then go back to it and the immobiliser has engaged and it won't start. Only way to start it is to reset the alarm (with all the doors shut) and open with either fob or key.
