Crown Satin Wood Paint.
6 Answers
Hi,
I redecorated our lounge the week before last and yesterday the new carpet was laid. When the carpet was put down some of the paint on one length of skirting kind of rubbed off, leaving areas of the skirting with flakes of paint on the surface of the skirting board. I know this Crown Satin Wood Paint is not an oil based gloss paint, so I guess this makes it less durable ? Or was the problem caused by me spreading the paint too thinly? When I ran a wet cloth along the skirting board it was covered with paint flakes, so I guess all I can do is remove the loose paint and then paint over it again ? Has anybody else had any problems when using this particular paint ?
Many Thanks, Zubar.

Dulux satinwood has the ability to stick like the preverbial to a blanket !
If your paint comes of with a damp cloth then your problem is down to the top coat having a poor surface to bond to.
Sorry.. but the end result is only as good as the preparation.

Hi, the skirting had orginally been painted in Crown Satin Wood Paint, so didn't feel an underocat was required. I just felt it was strange that the other 3 lengths of shirting in the room had not been affected in this way. I will sand the affected area of skirting down and start again.
Mnay Thanks,
