Does anyone have any idea how they make those pictures that appear to be just an incongruent mess of colours, but when you stare at them a 3D image magically appears!?

lol i refuse to believe they work.  I dont know if my brain just isnt as advanced as everyone elses, but ive NEVER seen a 3d picture out of them, and i reckon its a case of "the emporers new clothes"  where everyone just dosent want to look thick by saing they cant see anything!

Thanks Hammer. Isn't it just complete and utter genius? The guys that invented it deserve more credit! Kazzal, have another go at them, I promise they work! You need to stare at the picture but imagine you're staring at something further away.

Yeah - they are unreal.  When you first see it you'll be gobsmacked.  It's like being drawn in.  Also, it seems to luminesce sort of. 

I started by staring out of the window, then putting piccy in on tip of my nose while not adjusting my eyes (i.e. trying still staring at distance) then slowly pulling piccy away (really slowly, never adjusting your eyes).  About a foot or so away you'll see it.

You need two good eyes to be able to see them,  if you have poor vision in one eye,  they can't work,  as they rely on binocular vision.

I can't see them because of this,  it's quite annoying because people just think I'm not trying hard enough,  when in fact it is impossible for me!

I have several 3d books and they are brill. I find the best way to look at them is to hold the book at a normal reding distance and either imagine your looking at something just the other side of the book, or try going almost but not quite cross eyed and if you wait it all un jumbles itself into an amazing experience.
