Today, I came across the Washington Times online website. The home page was headlined, 'Special Report on the Paris Terror Attack'.

What I then found weird was the inclusion of the following two articles:

The first was, 'Bang for your Buck - Best Hand Guns under 500 dollars'.

The second one was headed, 'Top 10 Hand Guns in the U.S.'

Don't you think to include such articles at a time like this is rather insensitive?

What would readers of any UK journal think if they saw similar articles in their newspaper, at any time of the year?

I think I would be inclined to order one immediately now buddy. Rather be shooting back in the situation the poor people, who were victims, found themselves.

To Americans, the sale of guns is just a commodity like washing machines and TVs here. It is so ingrained in their society, that it seems perfectly normal to them. Links which you have high-lighted are usually advertising and are usually triggered (no pun intended) by keywords in the article. The unfortunate linking is done automatically by computers designed to generate advertising income.

Not in the US. Those articles would have been planned and ready a while ago. I doubt anyone noticed. No doubt there have been articles for things that look odd next to some stories in British papers.

We would never see similar adverts over here, as we have a much more common sense attitude to guns.

Talbot...I have made it quite clear, many times in the past, that I have never condoned terrorist actions by any group, including Muslims, so I am at a total loss to understand why you and others continue to make these unfounded accusations.
