HELP! Just bought new town house! Moved in a few days ago! Our bedroom! Top floor is colder than rest of house as you walk up the stairs you can feel getting colder as you go down it gets warmer! This can't be right can it!! As the house is 23 degrees the heating has switched itself off but still cold in our room.

We have one rad under the window at front of room and one in our bathroom.

Our heating has two control panels one in front room to control that and one on other side of it in hallway to control rest of house but still cold on our floor.

Hope you can help thanks X

Can you check the insulation?

If it is unusually different and persists you could hire one of those infrared heat sensor things.

Put it on the Snagging List when you hand it to your builders.
Are the radiators hot - in the rooms that feel cold?
As a new building it ought to have a BREEAM rating. You could ask the builders and/or the local planning dept what the breeam rating is meant to be for your property, and point out how rubbish the top floor is performing.
