Desk Top Icons

I've just re-installed google earth onto my pc, which I've done many times before but this time its there when I click on windows logo/programs but there's no icon on my desk top, and can't remember how to create one. it usually creates an icon automatically. how do I get an icon there? Thanks

You could try right clicking on it and selecting "copy", then right clicking on the desktop and selecting "paste shortcut".
