Smart Tv Ok For Ps3?

Anyone have any problems using a full HD TV for gaming on a ps3?
Have been told for serious gamers there is a noticeable lag in response time but I plug the ps3 in to my main TV which is a Panasonic tx37(3yr old) and couldn't perceive any lag at all compared to the current crt which the ps3 is connected to. Anyone had experience in this field?

Earlier this year Sainsburys offered a bargain basement 50” LG smart TV for just under £300 – I thought it too good to be true. I was wrong. I run the PS3 through it and have never encountered any lag.

BTW, I don’t play many games online – but do so a lot with Burnout Paradise; that needs rapid processing and I never have problems.

Incidentally, the ‘serious gamers’ angle amuses me. Before the LG I had a pretty basic Bush LCD – good screen size but otherwise low end. Again, no lag problems even with fast-paced online gaming. I’d love to know what superhuman qualities these ‘serious gamers’ have which we mortals can’t detect.
