I have taken part in reconfiguring an ADSL router and it seemed easy so long as you knew which changes to make to which parameters. On the other hand I have never done this with a router intended to be at the end of optical data signalling, nor have I even looked at the set-up panel for one of these.

Is there a significant difference in reconfiguring one of these ? I assume they are not deliberately impossible to reconfigure.
