yay! thanks, mental block shifted and it makes sense, thanks.
.36 is 6 x 6/100ths So if he has 6/100ths he needs another 30
In 30.36, the values are 3x10, 0x1, 3 x 1/10 and 6x 1/100.

A third decimal place would be x 1/1000
A fourth d.p. would be x 1/10000

and so on.
