I Want To Buy A Pedometer
18 Answers
I want to buy a pedometer/fitness tracker that I can wear on my wrist. The clip on ones are not much use for me. If it also functions as a clock it would be better ☺
I really need something idiot-proof.
I need/want:
• a wrist band that I can put on and forget about
• long lasting battery
• pedometer function is the only one that I really need
• ability to upload to a PC running Win10>> important
• Preferably cheap (under £50) but I would pay more if required
I like the look of the Jawbone but I am sure that I would need to use a smart phone – my phone is pretty basic.
I have looked and Googled and looked again until my head hurt but can’t find one that fits my requirements. Can anybody help me?

The steps/distance doesn't have to be accurate as I will be able to compare distances travelled over a day/week/month.
I do know that 10,000 steps is much further that I had initially realised. If I manage 100 steps I would be chuffed ☺

I have had one of these for at least three years, Wolf. I got mine from John Lewis but they don't seem to sell them any longer.
I use it everyday. I just pop in into my jeans pocket, at the back. Why won't one of these work for you?

Tilly ~ I don't have any clothing with pockets (apart from a few cardigans) and my shape (fat/round) means that I wear elasticated waists - my experience has been that the pedometers fall off easily. There is also the problem with my poor memory - remembering that I should take it with me.
If all else fails I will get a clip on one

I've got a fitbit charge HR...bought it on sale after christmas. It measures sleep and heartbeat, maps outactivity across the day,you can set step goals.
Or,there's the fitbit flex...a simpler(cheaper) version...does much the same. http:// www.arg os.co.u k/m/sta tic/Sea rch/sea rchTerm /FITBIT +FLEX.h tm?tag= ar:shop :fitbit :flex
I walk a LOT more now,and I also am making an effort to get more sleep. Very easy to use. Think it can be synched with your laptop/PC. I synch mine with my Nexus tablet.

I'm amazed .. why do you need to buy one ? .. have you got an Android phone ?
Mine was downloaded from Play store for free and it more or less records every step for nothing ... having doubted it's accuracy initially, I have checked step for step and it records very accuretly. You dont really need calorie burning data .. your favourite jeans will tell you all you need to know ..... my phone stays in my pocket and records every
step.
