I moved our small kitchen digital TV (no Sky) to clean and now we can't get BBC channels. We have tried reloading but can only get 11 channels. Can anyone help please? Mr Thug is not happy

Try it tomorrow morning when the weather is different. You just might get a different result.

This is Freeview ? Have you tried a rescan ? Checked the leads, made sure they are plugged in ok ?
Is 'reloading' the same as retuning? Because that's what I'd do.
Hi thug-you ! and regards to Mr Thug

I am an on-off man myself ( mainly 'on' I like to think hur hur hur)
and am limited to turning the set on and off

(oh I can explain how a Nipkov disc worked.... but I dont think that is helpful)
Unsure what reloading is. It may be. Is it part of the install instructions ?

I'd be more inclined to thing that there is a connection issue, whether your leads/plug/sockets, or the aerial; but the rescan is a quick & easy thing to try first and might achieve something.

Give all the plugs a wriggle, and if you have spare leads stored somewhere, try them instead of the one you presently have plugged in.
On my TV I can do a complete new installation, this may help as you're putting all the channels on afresh.
Let me know what you cleaned it with.

Yes it's Freeview.
Yes he re-tuned it
Hi Peter P, hope you are well
We have had connection issues before with this set so Mr Thug bought a high spec wall socket and new leads which screw into the socket and it has been working well.
I didn't clean the TV, only the counter top underneath
And we tried to complete installation and still only got 11 channels and no BBC.

I only moved it 6" and I didn't disconnect anything and there is plenty of play on the wiring anyway.

I will ask Mr Thug to wiggle a bit (if he's in the mood)
^instead of watching the telly? good idea.
Perhaps you accidentally switched on the Mohammed Ali filter ?

Hopkirk proved to be quite right. Mr Thug tried the next morning and everything was working. Thank you all for you help
Also while you cleaned under the TV you "moved" it - any problems with anything like - pull out plug from the wall for a good few hours - usually works for me, phones, SKY etc.
If the weather is that critical you may need a better aerial/cabling. I know mine is no longer up to it. My old freeview boxes can get the channels but anything new I get pretends there is no signal. A sign of falling tech standards I reckon, the new stuff not being sensitive enough.
Just make sure the accumulators are fully charged & all the valves in the set are fully seated & if all else fails give the chrystal a tweak.
