not really sure what catagory to put this in so i've decided on this one. If say, a person was killed or committed suicide in their own home and lived with other people who would clean up the aftermath after the body has been removed. do the police do it or is it left to the other residents of the property?

Yes I think it is - I was reading an article in a magazine earlier this week where a woman was murdered in her own living room.  Her son mentioned the amount of blood that was around when he was finally allowed back into the house.

There are people who specialise in this and will do the job for you for a fee, sometimes the police will get them in before allowing anyone in if the body has been there a while and made a real hard to shift mess, that domestic cleanering products couldn't handle.

I read an article by a guy who had set up his own business in the uk. i cannot remember the name of him or his company but the article was in Bizarre magazine. you could try their website and ask them if they can give you the info www.bizarremag.com

joko is right. There is a special team of people who clean that up. It is a serious health hazard to be dealing with such a thing and i find it very hard to believe the owner would be permitted to return to the premisis before it was decontaminated.

The executors do it.

I know, I did it.
