Eye Operation Tomorrow

May be offline for a couple of days as having my first cataract operation tomorrow. Think I also need my hearing checked. Watching the football the other night and two players squared up to each other. The commentator said "Oh looks like fisticuffs between those two" I heard "Looks like pixie dust". I'll just blame old age.

The thought of eye operations makes me squeamish.

Thanks Retro but eyes are not that bad. Unusual but my cataracts are not as bad as most people needing the op. I have an inflammation in my eyes that is proving difficult to tame. Have been on steroid eye drops for over two years but now the inflammation is causing the cataracts so my surgeon is doing the straight away. Bit longer op and a bit more caution than usual but trust them all at Eye Hosp 100%. Will enjoy being looked after.

Was apprehensive when had first steroid injection into my eye but plenty of anaesthetic eye drops first and did not feel anything. The second one though hurt like heck. That one went in through the top of my cheek and into the back of my eye. No anaesthetic either. I did not like that one.

Thanks Mamya, Old Geezer and Cupid. Most annoying thing is having to pay for just one new lens for specs and then in a couple of months having to get the other one done. Bound to work out dearer that a new pair of specs in one go.
