Diesel fuel problem

Hello Everyone
My problem is,my LDV convoy (117,000 km).This is the Ford transit 2.5di engine (1999)

My suspisions are dirt in the fuel tank, but my local Bosch service centre say that is more likely to be a sticking injector.

The problem only started when I filled the tank to full, and took a sharp left bend in the road, and , it started to loose power, and appeared to be running on 3 cylinders, as I lost about half my power. I drove 2 miles and then let the engine run on idle for 5 minutes, which did nothing to help the problem, so I then went back down the same road, and took a sharp right bend, which cleared the problem.and then it did it again, when I had been running in a straight line with my foot down for 10 minutes, I slowly lost power reducing my speed to 25mph. After idling for 10 minutes the problem had gone, but re occured again yesterday, and today, when I had been turning sharp bends at speed, and also running 60 mph in a straight line.This time the endine restarted badly, and would not idle.
It did idle okay the next morning and seems to behave itself if I only run the engine at about .75 power. It is when the throttle is applied foot to floor, that the problems generally occur, and taking bends(see below)

I had the pump checked last week, and also the fuel filter changed by a Bosch Service agent, and cannot now think what could be causing the problem.

Bosch also suggested that i drilled a small hole into my fuel filler cap to eliminate any vacuum that might be appearing, . I did also remove the fuel cap to see if the problem solved itself, but it did not.

The truck I have is a pickup type, with a tipper back, and the tank is under the crewcab which makes it difficult to remove, so I am worrying about this,as I would want to remove the tank myself to empty and clean, but don't want to do it, if its not necessary.

This may not be applicable in your case, but these are the sorts of problems you get with supermarket fuels. I never use them. On what you say, I would advise a bottle of Greased Lightning 12,000 mile fuel treatment. I've used it for years and it keeps the engine in fine condition. The best there is.
You can buy online at http://www.netparts.co.uk/ They do a dual oil and engine treatment pack for about �19. Take a look at the site to give you some idea.

I have known of some injector problems on ford diesel transit engines. do you know the codes stamped onto the injectors.eg "fsm". these will identify the injector type.If you can find the codes & I will try to find out if yours were within the identified "problem injectors".

i had a ford transit 1999 and the ford mechanic told me it was a faulty fuel rod it seems to be a common problem in that make (1999) the van would only reach a top speed off 50 mph and some times it would cut out all together scary stuff take it to a ford garage get there report

Hi Peter,  This sound like something I had before (not on a transit) which was caused by a piece of something floating around in the fuel tank, sometimes it would block the fuel pickup pipe and then other times it would be OK for days,  Eventually had to take out the tank and found a couple of pieces of plastic film of some kind inside.  Never reoccured after that
