Just wondering what everyone thinks is the best carpet cleaning solution to use, which one has given you the best results. Thanks in advance.

Use ordinary machine carpet cleaning detergent but use it a lot more diluted than the instructions say. I use it diluted 150 parts water to 1 part detergent.

have you thought about getting a steam cleaner that only uses water? i have the morphy richards one (it's only £30 at tesco now) and it gets my carpets and wood floor lovely and clean and fresh smelling without using any chemicals.
