I have 3 various different reg. file fixers that i have downloaded, however all 3 applications give different readings as to how many files require fixing, registry mechanic having repaired the ones it will subject to the free trial consistantly shows that there are some 26 outstanding errors to be corrected,1 click fixer plus informed me that i had 49 errors and fixed them for me, nevertheless registry mechanic continues to show 26 files still require fixing, now i have gone to a 3rd site free registry fix and their scan showed up some 150 or so files that needed repair and fixed 50 of them, but still reg. mechanic shows 26, and 1 click  fix informs me of my having no problems currently. how do i know which one to trust, will it make any difference if i purchase one of these products as they all give out such variable data, Please advise.

Don't be taken in by the claims of any of these products.

If your PC is functioning properly, stick with the old rule of "If it ain't broke . . .".

If you've got minor problems try System Restore.

If System Restore doesn't work, try booting from a floppy and run scanreg/fix.

If scanreg/fix doesn't work, try scanreg/restore.

If you've got major problems OR the above methods don't work OR you're simply determined to get back to a 'perfect' registry, then re-install Windows. (An on-top install is dead easy - certainly easier and safer than any of the software you've mentioned - and you won't lose any files or programs. The only thing you might need to do afterwards would be to re-install your anti-virus software).

So, save yourself both money & hassle. Steer clear of 'registry fixers'!!

Agreed. If you're getting popups telling you that you're registry is knackered, try running a decent spyware program, and amazingly your registry will be fine again!!
i think you should find a more powerful tool
hope this will help
