Broken Washing Machine?

My washing machine is full of clothes and water, and is just humming, not doing anything else. It is on 60 and has seemingly been on for hours and hours.
Any idea why it is stuck (now on rinse/spin) but not moving, and what I can do to get it completing its cycle?

If you had it on “easy iron”, it may be designed to hold the clothes in water until you choose to spin them so as to minimise creasing. It would have to leave the power on so any fool passing by couldn’t open the door and flood your kitchen.

Broken drive belt?
Not pumping out. Filter blocked(at the bottom) or pump not operating. Also check that outlet hose is not kinked or blocked. Could be a wet and messy solve.

I turned it off, then on, and then set to drain, and it has drained the water out. So it's not blocked. I had it accidentally on the 'easy iron' setting- could that be anything to do with it?!
As I've said, it's either a drive belt or a motor problem.

Would it be able to spin and empty itself if the drive belt or motor was broken?
You didn't say the spin cycle was working. Its probably not the belt or motor.
It may not be the answer, but I would check the filter.

thanks Woof- I phoned the man and he said the same as you. So it was the Easy iron button that was making it sit in water, so as not to crease it! Clever, but also now I know!
