Is it possible to stop Open office creating a new paragraph every time you just want to start a new line?

Isn't there a paragraph setting you can change ?
Question Author
That's the problem. I don't know how.
Not sure but I think that this is where the difference between Enter and Return keys comes into play.
Can't check as miles from PC and using tablet, but check the menus and see if you can find one. Or Chris might know.
Press Shift and Enter together.
I never get a new paragraph when simply pressing either Return or Enter.
Question Author
Well that does it and is good enough for me. I haven't used Oo for ages but when I did I just pressed enter and it automatically went to the next line. Don't know what's changed.
Thank you.
^^^ Neither do I, JD33!
I suppose it depends on the settings you have for Indent.
Question Author
Ok, I've been messing about about and I think I've cracked it if anybody's interested.
I went into 'Format' and unchecked 'When typing' and all is good again.
Like I said, it's been a while.
Thanks again.
