Hi

I am currently signed off sick with a pregnsncy related illness.

Will this affect my maternity package when I go off on maternity?

I work in the NHS and I should be back to work in a couple of weeks. I'm nowhere close to maternity leave yet but am concerned my pregnancy sickness will affect my maternity package and reduce the pay?

Thanks

nope ! what happens before you sprog is immaterial ..good luck
cherie cherie ! I hope the pregnancy is going OK
that is the most important thing

and the other thing is that I am sorry that there is no one at work who can advise ( that you trust - not that stupid cow you call your line manager) - are you unionised - rcn if a nurse and unison/ unite if other .

[we had a line manager who tried to get a fella on jury duty to come back and do a night on call]
My experience is from 10 years ago but I don’t think its changed. I had a staff member who had a terrible pregnancy, she fainted a lot and was generally unwell. She was signed off sick for much of it but was still entitled to full mat leave. PP’s advice about contacting your union rep if you have one, is spot on if work is being difficult. If you don’t have one then joining would be a good idea.
Oh and staff member carried to full term and baby was absolutely fine, a lovely little boy.
